Rotary Gardens in Janesville appears to be expanding.
The Janesville Plan Commission unanimously approves the donation of property at 805 and 1545 Sharon Street for use by Rotary Botanical Gardens.
Parks Director Cullen Slapak the two parcels owned by Kealey Revocable Trust total about 1.75 acres.
Slapak says the property at 1545 Sharon Street used to have a single family residence, but it was demolished several years ago.
The City of Janesville owns the land the gardens sit on and Rotary Gardens leases it. The City pays for the insurance on all of the buildings, but the Plan Commission needs to approve and improvements on the property.
