Commercial Development Company extends the auction on the 250 acre former General Motors assembly plant property in Janesville another week.

Janesville City Manager Mark Freitag says the reasoning for extending the auction is unclear.

Freitag says his biggest concern is environmental. He says the Department of Natural Resources have closed out all of the site except the plant site, which should take about two to four months.

Earlier this month CDC sold off a five acre outlot at 1210 South Academy Street to Center Construction of Evansville for $170,000.
