The Janesville Water Utility wants people to “Cease the Grease”.  Water Utility Director Dave Botts says dumping grease, fats, and cooking oils down the drain can clog up the pipes.  Botts says this can create backups into anyone’s home along the affected sewer pipe laterals.  He says the problem gets worse in the wintertime when the fats quickly harden in the cold pipes.  Botts urges residents to dispose of their grease, fats, and cooking oils in the trash.
