Depending on the size of your Thanksgiving turkey, it may be too late to thaw it the old fashioned way in the refrigerator.

Butterball Turkey Hotline expert Nicole Johnson says you can thaw a 20 pound bird in a cold water bath in about 10 hours.

Johnson says a frozen turkey takes about one day per four pounds of meat to thaw in the refrigerator.

Johnson says while it’s not ideal, you can still cook a partially frozen turkey.

Johnson says with Thanksgiving gatherings limited last year due to the pandemic, and many people cooking their first bird ever, she saw more creative cooking methods such as deep-frying, grilling, and even using a crock pot.
