The city of Milton has agreed to pay for a 5000 foot railroad spur to help establish a major employer. Milton City Administrator Al Hulick says the city will pay $1.5 million to construct the rail spur for Clasen Chocolates. Hulick says the city will actually be reimbursed through the Tax Incremental Financing agreement with Clasen Chocolates and a state Transportation Economic Assistance grant. Clasen Chocolates has already begun construction of its almost 400,000 square-foot factory on the city’s east side and anticipates being in production by the end of next year.
