A local blood center needs at least 800 donors a week to step up and roll up their sleeves.

Rock River Valley Blood Center Chief Operating Officer Heidi Ognibene says currently there’s a national shortage on blood.

Ognibene says traditional blood drives have taken a hit the last two years due to COVID-19.
