Family tradition appears to have played a role in a Janesville fourth grade teacher’s passion for agricultural education.  The Wisconsin Farm Bureau has chosen Roosevelt Elementary’s Carmen DeKok as its Ag in the Classroom Teacher of the Year.  DeKok says it’s important for children to know the importance of agriculture.  As a farm daughter she believes children need to know where their food comes from and the value of hard work.
