State Representative Mark Spreitzer of Beloit is joining several other Democrats in proposing a plan to support healthcare workers on the frontline of the pandemic.  Spreitzer says the bill would provide hazard pay, paid medial leave, and state-funded COVID-19 testing and treatment for uninsured healthcare workers.  He suggests the measure could be funded with the federal tax dollars available if the state were to expand Badgercare, which as yet has not been rejected by Republicans.  A similar bill failed in 2020 near the outset of the pandemic.
