The 34-year-old Beloit man arrested last week in connection with the shooting death of a 31-year-old Beloit woman has yet to be formally charged in the incident.

At his initial appearance in Rock County Court Monday Assistant District Attorney Mary Bricco recommended 34-year-old Anthony D. Richmond be released on a signature bond.

Bricco says there is still an active investigation, and charges are likely forthcoming.

Conditions of Richmond’s $2,500 signature bond include no contact with the victim’s family, no possession of weapons, and no leaving the State of Wisconsin.

Beloit Police where dispatched to the 1400 block of Madison Road last Wednesday where they found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to a local hospital where she later died.

Chief Andre Sayles said at a news conference last week, the victim and Richmond had been in a relationship and shared a residence at one time.
