Police provide an increased presence at Milton High School Tuesday after a vague threat to school safety is posted on a student’s social media Monday night.

According to a news release, the School District of Milton does not tolerate threats of violence and notified local authorities.

Through their initial investigation, Milton Police determined there was no credible threat to student safety.

The School District says the extra officers onsite today were to provide peace of mind and reassurance to the community.

Milton Police continue to investigate the incident, and the student could be referred for disciplinary action.
