A Janesville teen who’s accused of shooting a man who confronted him about a stolen bike takes a plea deal in Rock County Court.
19-year-old Kenan Clemons pleaded guilty January 21st to a single count of attempted second degree intentional homicide. Additional charges of operating without consent, burglary, and theft were dismissed but read into the record.
Janesville Police say Clemons and another suspect were involved in shooting a 36-year-old Janesville man in the 1900 block of Conde Street just before 5:00 p.m. on June 6th of 2020.
Witnesses reported seeing the two suspects steal a bicycle in the 700 block of Roosevelt Avenue. The victim, whose bike was stolen, followed the suspects to Conde Street, where he was shot multiple times with a handgun.
Clemons and the other suspect are accused of then stealing the victim’s vehicle, which was located soon after in the 5100 block of Afton Road.
Clemons is scheduled to be sentenced April 21st.
