The number of new home building permits issued in Janesville is on the rise.  City Building Director Tom Clippert says 146 were issued last year.  Clippert says that’s the most since before the great recession in 2008.  He says the availability of residential housing is vital to the economy.  Simply stated, with the increase in local industrial and business development, employees need housing.
