Garbage haulers may be allowed a small amount of asphalt shingles in their load to the Janesville landfill soon.

Operations Director Maggie Darr says they have been banned from the landfill since 2012 but the City Council is considering loosing the restrictions to allow for up to one cubic yard per load of garbage.

The City Council is introducing the ordinance on Monday night. A public hearing is expected to be scheduled for February 28th.
