corona-virus-70

Local public health officials react to news that the School District of Milton, UW-Madison, and the City of Madison are dropping their indoor mask mandates.

Public Health Department Epidemiologist Nick Zupan says currently there are about 50 new cases per day when three weeks ago Rock County was averaging more than 200 new cases per day.

Zupan says currently their are 13 patients in the hospital getting care for COVID-19 and just a few weeks ago the numbers were in the 70’s.

Zupan says the Center for Disease Control will likely be updating their mask guidance in the near future, however they remain a good layer of protection as we are not completely out of the woods yet.
