One of the people planning to run for Rock County Sheriff next year isn’t wasting any time in announcing his candidacy.

Less than a few hours after Sheriff Troy Knudson indicated he would not be seeking re-election Friday, Captain Curtis Fell announced he would be running as a Democrat.

Fell says he’s served at the Rock County Sheriff’s Office for over 28 years, rising through the ranks from correctional officer, to deputy sheriff, to sergeant, to captain.

Fell graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1988 and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in 1992. He earned a Master’s Degree in Management from Cardinal Stritch University in 2008.
