With a decline in both COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations in Rock County, the public health department says individuals can take a break from mask-wearing in most situations.  The health department is updating its prevention guidance based on a new framework provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  The new metrics indicate Rock County is at a medium COVID-19 Community Level.  Rock County Public Health officials say several exceptions to the new recommendation remain including the need to mask on public transportation, most health care settings, and some businesses.  Also anyone exposed to someone infected with COVID-19 should still wear a mask.
