The Sheriff’s Office of Walworth County recognizes correctional officers for National Correctional Officers Week. Sheriff Kurt Picknell says it impacts the county by keeping it safe. Picknell says most people arrested and confined come to the Walworth County Jail and if there’s a prison sentence later, they’d be delivered from his jail to the state prison system, customary for any Sheriff’s office in the state. National Correctional Officers Week is May 1 through May 7.
