A Rock County Judge orders a competency hearing for the 23-year-old Milwaukee man accused of leading Rock County Sheriff’s deputies on a high speed chase after stealing six dollars worth of donuts.
Jayvon A. McFarling is charged in Rock County Court with first degree recklessly endangering safety, fleeing an officer, two counts of bail jumping, and retail theft in connection with the incident that originated at the Lions Quick Mart on Highway 14 on January14th.
At his initial appearance in February, McFarling’s attorney raised the issue of competence and indicated that an evaluation had been ordered in Milwaukee County where he faced unrelated charges.
In Rock County Court last week, Judge Karl Hanson ordered that another competency hearing be conducted on McFarling within 30 days.
He’s due back in court June 17th.
