Applications are due today for 13 and 15-year-olds wanting to join Janesville Recreation Division’s Counselor-in-Training Program. Recreation Programmer Sara Helgeson says it allows those who aged out of camp to still go if they desire it, gives them experience working with kids and could help grow their resume for future endeavors. Helgeson says maybe teenagers wanted to be a camp counselor, have the responsibility, have fun and make camp enjoyable. Applications can be turned in through a 24-hour secure drop box outside the City Hall Wall Street entrance door, turned in to City Hall’s Park and Recreation Office, or emailed to Helgeson at helgesons@ci.janesville.wi.us.
