Local residents may have to wait another six weeks or so before reconstruction on Douglas and Sycamore Streets is finished. Janesville’s Engineering Divisions’ Assistant City Engineer Lisa Wolf says it’s important to maintain their infrastructure in a safe and suitable manner. Wolf says that’s what tax payers expect for the money they contribute and Janesville tries doing a comprehensive program where they’re proactively looking at under and above ground utilities, street pavement, and keeping it in a condition dependable, reliable and working for citizens. She says they expect the work which includes pavement rehabilitation to finish in another six weeks, roughly. According to a news release, reconstruction is currently happening on Douglas Street from East Racine Street to Sycamore Street, and Sycamore Street from South Ringold Street to South Fremont Street.
