One of the runways at the Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport is getting a little T-L-C.

Director Greg Cullen says Rock Road Companies is replacing the top four inches of asphalt on runway 4-2-2.

Cullen says that particular runway is grooved to allow water to run off of it easier, and it also has 18 inches of asphalt bellow the top layer in order for it to accommodate the weight of larger planes.

Cullen says this runway can handle planes as large as a Boeing 747.

The Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport handles about 150 take offs or landings every day.
