The Janesville City Council approves taking on $12 million in new debt to fund capital improvement projects.
Some of the more significant projects include $10.7 million for street infrastructure; $2.6 million for water, waste water and storm water projects; $4.1 million for water service main replacements; and $ 3.2 million for improvements to public buildings.
Finance Director Dave Godek says the CIP totals $32 million, which is 11 percent less than last year.
The City Council has already committed to funding capital projects in the amount of $ 6 million, which accounts for about 51 percent of the new debt issued.
