The Beloit man charged with drunken driving for the 9th time after fleeing a traffic stop on foot in January takes a plea deal in Rock County Court.

54-year-old Randall V. Hoyt plead guilty Tuesday to 9th offense operating while intoxicated. Additional charges of possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and obstructing an officers were dismissed but read into the record.

Hoyt was pulled over in the early morning hours of January 20th near the intersection of St. Lawrence Avenue and Johnson Road, but attempted to escape on foot.

Police say Hoyt was found hiding in a nearby back-yard.

Judge Barbara McCrory sentenced Hoyt Tuesday to five years in prison and five years of extended supervision.
