
The Janesville Board of Education is using $927,000 in saving from unfilled positions and refunds on prior year expenses to recognize current employees.
In a unanimous vote Tuesday evening the board approved giving current and eligible employees a one-time $600 stipend based on their time-weighted full-time equivalency, and giving all employees three additional days of sick bank time.
The sick time can go toward health insurance in retirement, FMLA, or paid out into a tax supported annuity.
