A local animal shelter partners with one of the biggest online retailers in the world to keep un-sellable items out of the dumpster.

Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin Business Development Director Katie Swedlund says Amazon will be donating frequently used items that they can’t sell to the Humane Society.

Swedlund says it includes items like dog and cat food, kitty litter, paper towels, and laundry detergent.

Swedlund says the Humane Society will go and pick up the donations once they have a few pallets worth.

Swedlund says the Humane Society is sharing any donations they can’t use with other pet rescue and pet food panties in the area and in other parts of the state.
