Volunteers and national service participants are honored at the 2022 Governor’s Service Awards for addressing serious social needs across Wisconsin. Serve Wisconsin Executive Director Jeanne Duffy says it’s an annual event to honor outstanding volunteers and national service participants, like AmeriCorps, AmeriCorps VISTA, and AmeriCorps Seniors. Ed Hansen from RSVP of Rock County in Beloit was an Americorps Seniors Lifetime Impact Volunteer honoree. Duffy says honorees are recognized for the good work they’re doing on Serve Wisconsin’s behalf to make communities stronger and help those in need from working in schools to driving seniors to doctors appointments. The event was last week at Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison.
