After seven years as Beloit’s city manager, Lori Curtis Luther is moving on.

A letter from Curtis-Luther’s office confirms that she will become the new city manager in Overland Park, Kansas.

Curtis-Luther previously served as the assistant city manager of Overland Park the first five years of the 2000’s.

Overland Park, which is a Kansas City suburb, is the second largest city in Kansas behind Wichita.

Some accomplishments Curtis-Luther points to during her time as Beloit city manager include bringing reforms to the city’s police department, bringing inclusiveness to the city’s hiring processes, and welcoming several new businesses to the city’s Gateway Business Park, including Amazon.

A special session of the Beloit City Council Tuesday evening may determine the departure date of Curtis-Luther from the city manager position.
