The Janesville School district welcomed a new super intendent and approved a raise for certain employees at last night’s meeting.
Mark Holzman, the Janesville School District’s new superintendent, says he’s appreciated the warm welcomes and looks forward to getting started and meeting those in the schools and the community. Holzman officially got started July 1st, when his two year contract began.
The district also welcomed two other new employees at last night’s meeting, Athletic Director Jim McLowery and Jackson Elementary Principal Sara Brehm.
McLowery said they’re going to make sure education based athletics will impact kids the right way, while Brehm notes she’s excited to help kids grow not only academically, but also emotionally and socially.
The board also approved a salary increase for non-certified staff last night. The raise is a 3.8% raise and will cost approximately $580,000.
