A gas station and convenience store could replace the vacant Rock County Job Center building.

That’s the plan if the Rock County Board accepts an offer from Kwik Trip to sell the former county property.

The board votes at their Thursday night meeting to either accept or pass on the million-dollar offer from the LaCrosse-based company.

The building will be razed and a new Kwik Trip will be built on the east portion of the lot if the board says yes to the sale.

The proposed Kwik Trip would be the second major project planned for Janesville’s south side.

Earlier this month, a business complex including a grocery store, sandwich restaurant and barbershop was proposed at the site of a former gas station on Center Avenue in Janesville.
