The driver of a semi-truck is arrested following a scuffle with South Beloit police officers late Tuesday night.

A release from South Beloit Police says officers responded to the report an intoxicated truck driver at the Flying J truck stop.

Officers ordered the driver, identified as Laura Meredik, out of the semi.

Meredik refused and fought with officers as she tried to put the semi into gear and drive away with officers partially in the cab of the truck.

Officers successfully pulled Meridek out of the truck, with she and the officers receiving minor injuries.

Meredik was taken to the Winnebago County Jail, where she was held without bond.

Meredik was charged with Commercial Motor Vehicle DUI, aggravated battery to a law enforcement officer, criminal damage to government property, and resisting arrest.
