A semi-truck driver is charged with commercial vehicle DUI and battery to a police officer following an incident at a South Beloit truck stop.

Laura Meredik was arrested after South Beloit police were called to the Flying J on Willowbrook Road late Tuesday night.

Meredik was in the cab of her semi trying to leave the truck stop when police order her out of her truck.

Police say Meredick refused and allegedly punched an officer trying to remove her from the truck.

Officers eventually got Meredik out of the truck.

She and officers involved in the tussle received minor injuries.

Meredik is also charged with resisting arrest and criminal damage to government property.

She was held in the Winnebago County Jail without bond.
