The 41-year-old Beloit man who’s accused of shooting at a woman who tried to break up a disturbance earlier this month in Janesville makes an appearance in Rock County Court.
Court Commissioner Stephen Meyer rescheduled 41-year-old Nathan Williams of Beloit’s preliminary hearing Friday morning after informing the court that the public defender’s office had contacted 23 lawyers without success.
Williams is charged with two counts of attempted first degree intentional homicide, first degree recklessly endangering safety, and substantial battery.
Williams is accused of shooting at a woman on August 14th in the 2300 block of Rockport Road after she tried breaking up a disturbance between him and another person.
According to the criminal complaint a six year old child was sleeping inside a house that was struck by gunfire.
His preliminary hearing was rescheduled for September 2nd in the hopes the public defender’s office will assign an attorney.
