Some Janesville residents are voicing their concerns over the new Bird Scooters in the downtown area.
Downtown business owner Paul Murphy says the scooters are not being parked properly after use and that they’re being parked along curbs in the road, in the middle of sidewalks, or at the entrances of side streets downtown.
Murphy says his concern is with riders under the age of 18 that shouldn’t be riding and are parking them improperly or leaving skid marks on the gifts and donations that people have given to the city on festival ground sidewalks.
The Bird scooters began in Janesville on August 15th and are scheduled to run through October.
