A 45-year old Janesville man pleads not guilty to charges stemming from a robbery arrest in late August.
Joshua S. Sokolik appeared in front of court commissioner Stephen Meyer Wednesday afternoon where he was faced with charges or retail theft, disorderly conduct, resisting an officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sokolik was arrested in August after he allegedly robbed the Lions Quick Mart in downtown Janesville and threatened the clerk with a knife. He led officers on a brief chase while on a bicycle near the Marshall apartments before his arrest.
Sokolik is also facing a felony charge of battery or threat to a judge, prosecutor, or law enforcement officer and requested a preliminary hearing on that charge.
Sokolik is next due in court on October 3rd for his status conference and preliminary hearing.
