Janesville’s interim city manager has been selected.
Janesville Police Chief David Moore was unanimously selected for the position at Monday night’s city council meeting.
Moore says he was approached by the council president and vice president about the role, and that current city manager Mark Freitag has built a strong organization and there are talented people working in the city so he expects it to go smoothly.
Moore says he has developed a plan to split his time between police chief and city hall, with giving some of his deputy chiefs more responsibility and the spending part of his day at the police station and part at city hall meeting with city leaders.
Moore will officially begin his tenure as Janesville’s interim city manager on October 24th.
