The City of Janesville’s proposed 2023 budget is up for presentation at Monday night’s city council meeting.
Finance Director Dave Godek says the overall budget sees an increase in about $2.9 million and it maintains current levels of service the city provides so no services are being cut and wages and benefits continue to be the cities biggest expense.
Godek says there are no major cuts but there are reductions in one time uses, such as elections, but that money is then re-programmed for something else.
The entire proposed 2023 budget will be presented by City Manager Mark Freitag at (Monday) night’s city council meeting and then a public Budget Study Session will be held October 18th.
