A number of Midwest school districts are the victims of false reports of active shooter incidents.

Janesville School District Public Information Officer Patrick Gasper says Thursday morning the Rock County 911 Communications Center received several false reports of shots fired with injured students at Craig High School.

Gasper says the School district of Janesville was prepared after the FBI put out a warning.

According to a news release, the calls are placed over the Internet.

Gasper says there was no active shooter incident in Janesville and at no time were students or staff in danger.

Gasper says that while there was an increased police presence at Craig High School, there was no need for a lockdown.
