The Beloit School board decided it needed more time to put together an ad hoc committee that would study the referendum and to bring forward suggested referenda questions to the board.
Board member Megan Miller said a committee would bring as many people to the table as possible to make it happen and they need to put together a committee as soon as possible.
Board President Sean Leavy spoke against the creation of the committee, noting that while things need to happen fast, the board does need to slow down and things will be where they need to be.
In order for a referendum question to appear on the ballot, it has to be finalized and approved by the board no later than January 3rd.
The board hopes to bring possible committee members for approval at their next meeting on November 15th.
