The South Beloit City council got the oppurtuntiy to get a look at the initial revenue figures earlier this week as it gets ready to start the process of putting together the cities budget for next year.
City Administrator Sonya Hoppes says every 25 years a city has an opportunity to change how they levy taxes, but the council is pretty much on the same page with the tax levy amount and they don’t expect to increase it.
Hoppes says there could be an increase in the property tax revenue, but the initial number of a $74,900 increase is the highest that number will be, and she doesn’t expect the final number to be that much.
The city council will have until its first meeting in December to finalize the city budget.
