Giving Tuesday is the day that shoppers take a break from the hustle and bustle of Black Friday and Cyber Monday to donate to charity.

The City of Janesville is encouraging residents to celebrate Giving Tuesday on November 29th by considering a gift to the Park and Recreation Legacy Fund.

Recreation Director Shelley Slapak says it was established in 2021 to receive and accept donations from community members interested in supporting City parks, playgrounds, and recreation facilities.

Slapak says gifts will help beautify, maintain, upgrade, and program the public spaces that make Janesville Wisconsin’s Park Place.

Donations can be made on the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin’s website.
