Edgerton hospital is getting a little boost in the fight against childhood obesity.

Foundation Director Ann Heiden says they’ve been awarded a $2,000 grant through the Edgerton Community Funds Grant Program which will help support their “Fitness Zone” program.

Heiden says the program is located at two Edgerton elementary schools and has the goal of encouraging physical activity and a healthy lifestyle.

Heiden says the funds from this grant will go towards the purchase of gaming and exercise equipment that kids wills be able to use during school recesses.

Edgerton Hospital hopes the equipment will be installed before they start their Fitness Zone Program in schools this spring.
