The FCC has rolled out a new national broadband map, and Rock County residents are being asked to validate the accuracy of the info on the map.

County Administrator Josh Smith says its crucial for residents to submit challenges if they notice any inaccuracies, because the federal government will use the map to determine whether or not Rock County gets a portion of 42 billion dollars set aside for broadband expansion.

Smith says the process for submitting a challenge is easy, all residents need to do is visit the FCC broadband map website and if they see an inaccuracy, press the submit challenge but on the screen.

People have until January 13th to check the accuracy of the map and submit a challenge.
