Many residents in Janesville and southern Wisconsin got less snow than they expected during last weeks winter storm, but the city still saw its fair share of challenges.

Operations Director Maggie Darr says the accumulation only added up to a few inches, but the biggest issue they ran into was the wind and snow drifts, so they had crews out until Saturday afternoon addressing all the drifting snow.

Darr also urges drivers to be careful, as they’ve already had a couple of incidents with drivers running into plow and trash collecting trucks.

The most recent incident occurred Sunday night, where a driver rear-ended on of the cities snow plow drivers.
