Governor Tony Evers announces a $5 million investment in rural transit serving seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Aging and Disability Resource Center Aging Unit Supervisor Cory Marsh says Rock County received a $110,156 grant to help purchase a new side-loading medical bus.

Rock County received a second grant of $73,460 to help support mobility management.

The 5310 Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Program awards grants to local public bodies and private, non-profit agencies. Since it began in the 1970s, the program has helped fund the purchase of more than 2,200 vehicles in Wisconsin. The funding also supports agencies’ mobility management and operating assistance.
