A local environmental education center is hosting an educational program on a popular bird of prey that captures the imagination.

Welty Environmental Center Program Director Aaron Wilson says an arctic owl program that took place last year quickly sold out and there was a waiting list.

Wilson says three owls from Hoo’s Woods, including a snowy owl named Wesley, will be present at the event on January 21st from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m.

Participants will learn about owls, dissect an owl pellet, and take a night-time walk in Big Hill Park to listen for local owls.

Pre-registration is required as the program is limited to 60 participants.
