Janesville Police Officer Josh Johnson is being commended for his efforts in responding to a residential fire in December.

Deputy Police Chief Chad Pearson says Officer Johnson was responding to a trailer fire on Janesville’s southwest side and helped responding fire personnel lay out a water line and lay down suppressing water to help knock down the flames.

Pearson says the process is especially difficult and time consuming for one person to do alone, but with the teamwork of Officer Johnson and fire personnel they got it done within one minute.

Pearson says this a perfect example of the relationship the police and fire departments have, showcasing both departments willingness to protect the community.
