A 24-year-old Janesville woman is facing felony charges after being accused of smearing blood on a police officer’s face.

According to a news release, officers were dispatched to loud argument at an apartment on the 300 block of Park Avenue just after 9:00 Tuesday night.

Officers made contact with San Juanita A. Perez at the front door and learned that she was out on bond with restrictions preventing her from having contact with the man who lives there.

Police say Perez shut the door and eventually they saw her walking through the back yard where she eventually stopped at an officer’s command.

According to the news release, Perez had a cut on her finger and hen she was being placed in handcuffs she intentionally smeared it on an officers face.

The officer had to go to the hospital to receive treatment for blood exposure after getting blood all over their face, nose, and lips.

Perez is facing charges of throwing bodily fluids at a public officer, misdemeanor bail jumping, resisting, and disorderly conduct.
