Janesville Residents can now sign up for the cities Heart My Yard program if they want a fun way to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

Recreation Director Shelley Slapak says residents can have their yards filled up with 20 plastic hearts, and kids will then be able to search for the hearts similar to an Easter Egg hunt.

Slapak says if people wanted to hide the eggs on their own, there is a “Heart My Yard To Go” option, where residents can pick up the hearts at city hall and hide them how they like.

The regular program costs $35, while the “to go” option costs $25, and residents can register either on the cities website or by visiting the recreation office at city hall.
