The League of Women voters Whitewater Area works to take the confusion out of the upcoming Board of Education election where 12 people have decided to run for three open seats.

Co-President Ellen Penwell says a candidate forum is taking place from 10:00 a.m. until noon on January 28th at Whitewater City Hall.

Penwell says all of the questions will come from the audience, and the event will be filmed by Whitewater Community Television for viewing after the event.

Penwell says 10 of the 12 people who will appear on the ballot for the primary will be attending. One person can’t make it and one person has dropped out of the race.

During the February 21st primary, the field of candidates will be narrowed to six who will appear on the April ballot.
