The State Patrol reports more than 20 people were injured and approximately 85 vehicles involved in a pair of pile-ups on the Interstate near Beloit during the lunch hour Friday.  Officials say the first series of collisions occurred on I-39 westbound at 12:30 p.m. at mile marker 181 close to County Road S.  About one-minute later the State Patrol received reports of another series of crashes in the eastbound lanes.  All lanes in both directions were closed for several hours.
